The Wizard of Oz, aka The Messiah, The Anointed One, The One You’ve Been Waiting For, etc. known formally as President-Elect Barack Hussein Obama is as of today still clear of any entanglements in the Rod Blagojevich affair. Therefore, His Anointedness is proceeding with his Yellow Brick Road plan to create a socialist nirvana, naming ever more extreme leftists to important government positions. The pace hasn’t slowed, even though the Wicked Witch of the MidWest, Rahm Emmanuel, may be called to testify before a grand jury of hopefully not his peers, but average Americans, instead.

The YBR plan (remember, this is a new kind of President) will incorporate lots of pork, handouts and populist pronouncements without doing anything substantial to solve the underlying problems. In fact, it’s more than likely that a Marxist President and a socialist Congress will create many more problems than they will solve and it will take decades to unwind the mess. Think FDR and LBJ. The first is federal insolvency. With a debt load of $40 trillion already on the books and threatening the US economy, His Bad Self is proposing yet another massive Democratic spending spree dressed up as an economic stimulus/green technology package. There’s no point in discussing the benefits of such a trillion-dollar mistake because there are none, unless you happen to be one of the parasites in line to profit from it. The poor, the working poor and the lower middle class will see none of those benefits, because Obama’s ‘vision’ doesn’t include them. That money is intended for unions, specifically labor and government unions, that will see their membership swell exponentially. Government contractors are basically provided their cut for distributing the money to union employees. Government employees are hired to watch over the government contractors. Nothing actually has to be accomplished for all that money, as long as it’s all used up.

Therefore, the only measurable result will be to add more zeroes to the existing debt load. Based on projected government revenues ( our taxes) and how little the government actually puts toward easing its debt load, that $40-plus trillion will be paid off in 3 or 4 centuries, but only if our government stops spending money it doesn’t have. Not money it doesn’t have today, or next year, but money it arithmetically shouldn’t be able to have until 2400 AD. Unfortunately, the money supply continues to grow, printing presses are running on overtime, and entire forests are disappearing to fuel the government’s need to boost inflation. Oh yeah, in case the mainstream media missed this one:  The government wants inflation to go into hyperdrive. Why? The federal deficit can be paid off with zillions of worthless dollars. Problem solved. Back to the printing presses and make it snappy. Will raging inflation destroy middle class Americans? Absolutely. Not the Anointed One’s problem. Hyperinflation gives him and the loony toons in Congress more spending loot and the resulting misery that will keep Democrats firmly in power. The bonus is that they get to blame the Republicans for it.

Chicago-style politics, aka Democrat-style politics, is an age-old system of patronage and tribute that has infested bureaucracies for centuries. It turns the concept of government on its head: you must bribe your local elected politician, or his/her unelected party boss, to provide government services that your tax dollars already cover. Government services are rationed so that citizens must pay tribute in order to receive what is rightfully theirs in the first place. It could be a streetlight, extra police patrols or even a new exit ramp. It is a purely parasitic notion — those who control the levers of government enriching themselves and their cronies at the public’s expense. Rod Blagojevich, Barack Obama, Jesse Jackson, Jr. and Richard Daley are all products of this system, from which they derive their political power. Obama, likely the smartest of the bunch, has additional dimensions of political power due to his associations with A.C.O.R.N., the ACLU, leftist extremists, etc., that propelled him into the White House, while Gov. Blagojevich is likely headed to prison.

Chicago ward politics aren’t unique to this Midwestern town. It is a microcosm of how the Democratic Party operates on a national scale, how it conducts business in Congress and how our new President will behave once he’s in office. Be prepared for bare-faced lies, obfuscation, power grabs and cronyism on an unparalleled scale. This will make the Clinton years look positively prudish. And oh, by the way, Obama will fire scores of US district attorneys, especially those conducting investigations into Democratic politicians and bureaucrats. And no one will complain. There will be no screeching by the media, no calls for investigations and no grandstanding by members of Congress. It will be business as usual.

His Anointed Self Obama is now pledging to spend $1 trillion to ’stimulate’ the economy in 2009 with additional spending bills heaped on top of an already bulging, pork-laden 2009 budget that quietly passed earlier this year. That would put government spending in 2009 at roughly $5.5 trillion, or 4 times the ‘normal’ bulging, pork-laden budget that sails through Congress. That kind of money could rebuild every road in America, re-string every power and telephone line in the country and even build a few dozen new nuclear power plants. But that won’t happen. There will be a few signature projects, all of them failures, and the rest of the money will disappear down a rathole, leaving only debt service for taxpayers to fund well into the next century or four.

Our government is on the brink of insolvency. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Frank, Dodd and the rest of the socialist elitists controlling Congress and the White House will bankrupt this country. And, they don’t care. The more misery that exists, the more fodder they have for ratcheting down on those who suffer, blaming the rich and the Republicans for the mess the Democrats alone created. What a perfect setup: Lie to the American people. Make them suffer even more. Blame the uninvolved. Grab more power. It’s the Democratic way.

And what do conservatives and Republicans (not necessarily the same) do about this? Nothing. Instead of rabble-rousing the way liberals and socialists have, they hold back. They discuss. They write letters. No, that just won’t do any more.

Barack and Michelle Obama chose not to send their daughters to Washington DC public schools. Not surprisingly, Barack Obama adamantly opposes choice for children attending DC public schools, characterized as the nation’s worst public school system. This is not an unusual stance for a Democratic politician. The Democratic Party in general doesn’t want any choice in education, reflecting the wishes of its major constituents - teacher unions, public employee unions, socialist activists and the ACLU. For those unfamiliar with the true mission of the ACLU, removing parental choice and parental influence in education is one of its highest priorities. ACLU members are and always have been dedicated to a socialist agenda. The ACLU is and always has been wedded to the Democratic Party.

Therefore, Democrats are unfailingly opposed to any reforms of the public education system or any serious competition. Charter schools have found Democratic politicians to consistently adversarial. Further, a good many Democrats are supporting a nationwide ban on home schooling because it poses a minor threat to the hegemony of the union-controlled public system. As test scores sink, truancy and dropout rates increase, the National Education Association and its rival American Federation of Teachers can only offer a single solution - more money. This despite the fact that the US spends more than twice as much as the next biggest spender, and still ranks 55th in scholastic achievement globally.

Teacher unions, academics and schools of education ignore calls for reform. Study after study has shown that the techniques and fads embraced by public educators and many college professors are flawed, stupid and wildly inappropriate. And still, the education monopoly plows forward, confident in its political heft and gamesmanship.

One need only to watch as DC school chancellor Michelle Rhee attempts to reward good teachers and fire incompetent teachers. The firestorm has now involved not only teacher unions and the ACLU, but Congress itself, simply because the chancellor wants to strip tenure away from truly bad teachers. But, why should elementary and secondary public school teachers get tenure when 60% of college professors don’t have tenure? In fact, tenure doesn’t even belong in public schools in the first place. The concept of tenure was developed in the late 1800s to protect the religious beliefs of a college professor, can you believe it? And here, teacher unions have applied tenure to the protection of incompetent, even dangerous, teachers who are screwing up our kids. And the Democrats back them 100 percent.

Democrats have no problem backing the teacher unions and the ACLU. After all, incompetent teachers create ignorant citizens. Ignorant citizen don’t discriminate between BS and reality when it comes to political discourse. Ignorant citizens can make their way to the voting booth as easily as informed citizens. Unions provide shuttle buses for the ones who can’t find voting booths on their own. For Democrats, a screwed up public education system is all upside and no downside. It perpetuates and grows a solid, consistent voting bloc. Could it be that Democrats are so cynical and self-serving that they are perfectly willing to ruin millions of lives, destroy this country’s future and impair opportunity for the sake of power? You betcha.

Ann Coulter has had a taste of what liberals will do if you disagree with them, having been assaulted at almost every college campus where she has been invited to speak. What threat could Ms. Coulter pose that college students feel the need to bombard her with vegetables, push her from the stage and hold unruly demonstrations? Apparently dissent and debate is not something liberals can easily tolerate if it’s directed toward them. Karl Rove was similarly accosted by an antiwar activist while onstage during a panel discussion. Funny, no high-profile liberal has ever been pelted with fruit by a group of young conservatives. Al Franken has never had to suffer the humiliation of picking rotten tomatoes out of his hair or trying to outshout some idiot with a bullhorn and yet he encourages, even demands, the very same action be taken against his conservative opponents. 

And then, there are the thugs - the ones that show up to disrupt speeches, meetings and events being held by conservatives. The mainstream media spends little time examining the motives and resources of liberal thugs. When they are mentioned, it’s almost always in the context that the targeted conservative truly deserved to be assaulted, or that the conservative’s viewpoints where somehow dangerously inflammatory, controversial or racist. Therefore, these thugs were fully justified in their actions.

The thugs appear wherever pressure is required. St. Paul, Minnesota is probably not a hotbed of liberal thuggery and so one can assume that they were imported specifically for the 2008 Republican convention. Who paid for their travel, food and lodging? It could be some of the many liberal front organizations that receive money from wealthy donors like George Soros or Peter Lewis through intermediaries. The money could have come indireclty from the campaign coffers of Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, or possibly the Democratic National Committee. It’s easy to do. If the Obama campaign can accept millions of dollars in untraceable prepaid credit card donations, it’s likely the money can flow out of the campaigns in equally devious ways. The more likely scenario are private foundations that laundered the money through several layers of middlemen. In any case, liberals feel that the ends justify the means. If a little muscle can get us all to the promised land just a little quicker, so much the better. Lenin would agree.

The media monkeys are patting themselves on the back these days. They managed to pull off a coup, installing a Marxist in the White House and consolidating leftist power in Congress. Besides the $400 million tax credit to media producers hidden inside the bank bailout bill, there must be something else they’ll receive in exchange for bamboozling the American voter. Whatever it might be, you can count on the media to continue their cheerleading for what could become the most oppressive regime in America history. There’s no going back. There’s no time out. What Obama and Congress do with their newly acquired power will be irreversible. One thing is sure: productive, working Americans will pay for it all, in economic terms and personal freedoms.

Once the Obama Nation becomes a reality, merely voting him and his leftist compatriots out of office won’t matter. The structural changes he intends to make place government first, above all else. That means the government no longer serves the people and is no longer accountable to the people. Rather, we, the citizens, work for the government, and we are accountable to the government. Unelected, unaccountable officials deep within a vast bureacracy will hold the power of life and death over us. And no, we can’t just take it back. No one in power ever relinquishes that power without a fight. It only happened once in human history — when the founding fathers of this country drafted and ratified a Constitution which accomplished precisely that.

No, the middle class will literally have to wrest control of their lives and this country away from the bureaucrats and elites. It will get ugly. That Brooks Brothers suit is going to get wrinkled manning the barricades on Main Street.

Senator Barack Obama is now President-Elect Obama. The crowds went wild in Grant Park and Times Square. Certainly, it’s a historic event - an African American candidate breaks the color barrier. But, there are many more accomplished and experienced African Americans who were ignored by their own parties, the media and voters in general. Why this guy? In any case, we’re stuck with our choices good, bad or indifferent. The Obama administration and a largely Democratic Congress will now shove through legislation and programs that will grow government and limit our personal and economic freedoms. It will be unprecedented in American history. Franklin Delano Roosevelt was a socialist elitist who firmly believed in and enforced a class hierarchy in the US. Lyndon Baines Johnson was a socialist elitist who firmly believed in a morally and ethicly ambivalent society. But, neither man was so brazen as to promise he would dismantle the protections of the Constitution and call for an internal, civilian security force equal in power and funding to our military. And neither man openly promised forced redistribution of wealth, pitting one class of Americans against another.

This will come as a rude shock to those who think that Obama will pay for their gasoline, pay their mortgages and give them ‘free’ health care. It will never happen. Instead, every form of taxation will be increased and new taxes will be instituted. Everyone will suffer. If you thought medical care was expensive, time-consuming and frustrating, wait until the government gets involved. You’ll be waiting line for an aspirin. There is nothing that our government does exceptionally well, with a few colossally expensive exceptions — aerospace and defense. And the reason these two areas can point to incredible technical and operational achievements is because cost, the taxpayer’s liability, is no object. Get ready for a $20 bottle of aspirin coming to a drugstore near you. Oh, that triple bypass that will save your life? You’ll have to wait 10 years. But, if you’re politically connected, perhaps a Democratic party apparatchik, you’ll be in and out in 4 days.

Americans, on average, make for really lousy serfs and servants. A couple hundred years enjoying unequalled freedoms, a largely classless society and social mobility make Americans a very independent sort of people. They chafe and complain under too much authority and too many rules. Better get used to it. A life of servitude awaits at the end of the Obama song and dance routine. Even the parasites who voted in the Anointed One and the creatures inhabiting Congress will find that life won’t be so rosy once the Gang of Three takes over. Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will begin where Lenin began. Hopefully, they won’t end up where Stalin did.

They’ll shake down the rich. When the rich are no more, they’ll shake down the merely affluent. When the affluent are gone, they’ll start on the ‘middle class’. One detail Obama omitted in his oratory: There aren’t enough wealthy people to give the masses what they’ve been promised. The top 2% of wage earners can’t begin to pay for the other 98%, even if the government took away everything they have. It does not compute. But, most Americans have been so poorly served by the public education system they can’t figure it out. Hhmm.

The Democrats will be swept into office by pandering to the parasites, promising them the riches earned by the producers. And, those parasites aren’t necessarily the stereotypes that first come to mind. In fact, the most pernicious, coldly effective parasites are members of the liberal elite. They are affluent, educated, politically connected insiders. They firmly believe in class distinctions provided, of course, that the prevailing social structure puts them at the very top. Everyone else is here to carry their bags and wash their cars. In cascading order will come the others — bureaucrats, moneylenders, unions, and at the very tail end, the people who truly need to be helped.

It is stunning that so few Americans are uninvolved in something so important. A recent study suggests that fewer than 15% of Americans know who Nancy Pelosi is, even as she endeavors to take food off their tables, money out of their wallets and boost energy costs into the stratosphere. But what Americans don’t know and don’t care about will condemn them to a life of servitude. The promised change is coming.

America’s parasites are welcoming the presumed ascendancy of Barack Obama to the highest office in the land. He’s made promises up and down the socio-economic ladder to just about anyone he thinks will be able to cast a vote, legally or illegally. There will be more pork, says Obama. There will be more handouts, says Obama. There will be more welfare of every form, says Obama. And he’s not hiding the fact that there will be more taxes to pay for it all. But, that tax will be paid only by the richest in the land, who couldn’t possibly have made that money by their own effort, comittment and risk. It was wealth accumulated by some nefarious, unknown means that in all fairness must be distributed to all. So says Obama. And when elected, he and his Democratic henchmen will put this country through a wrenching, hellish transformation.

Obama, the one we’ve all been waiting for, knows nothing of wealth creation and what makes this country so very different from the rest of the world. And if he does, he doesn’t care. Like Lenin and the Bolsheviks, Obama, Pelosi and Reid will experiment with the economy, the political process, the role of government and the structure of society. We will be the guinea pigs, as will our children and their children. They will solidify their power so that the Democratic party can never be voted out of office and government can grow exponentially. This, they have solemnly promised America. They don’t have to hide their agenda anymore. The parasites, who outnumber the producers, focused on the promises of easy money and government handouts, cheerfully giving up their economic freedoms.

The transition into socialism will be subtle. The transformation into a socialist state, with its ruling elite, party apparatchicks and clueless masses will not. When millions of middle class Americans are jobless, homeless and hopeless as Obama twists the knobs and fiddles with our fates, it will be too late to point out that the Democrats made their intentions very clear. And even the parasites will suffer. Because they’re no longer needed to vote, apply political pressure or write big campaign checks. They’ll be cast aside and told to fend for themselves — a bitter harvest to be sure.

Our man Joe has verbalized the angst of productive Americans across the country: Why are we bothering to work so hard if the rewards are taken away before the ink on the check is dry? Barack Obama’s intent was made very clear in his brief exchange with our intrepid plumber — don’t even try. Just lay back and let the government take care of you. Obama wasn’t speaking to Joe. He was speaking to his constituents who eagerly await the day when they can get even more for doing even less. Obama doesn’t know how to speak to Joe because Obama doesn’t understand how business is grown, how wealth is created, or what it takes in terms of risk and sacrifice to do so. He is so steeped in Marxist philosophy that the simplest of business concepts is beyond his comprehension.

Joe understands that every increase in income tax, either for himself or his business, delays his ability to hire another employee, which in turn prevents the business from growing. Joe also understands that he has to pay tax on any profit before he can plow that money back into the business. Therefore, the higher the tax rate, the less money to be put back into the business. Joe isn’t putting the money in his pocket. He’s trying to build a business by reinvesting in it. That’s how small business are bootstrapped from nothing. If the business does well, Joe and his family do well. If the business suffers, Joe still pays his employees and still pays his bills, but he and his family make sacrifices. If Joe is willing to take the risk, put his money on the line, work day and night, he should be given the chance to smell success. After all, very few small businesses succeeed, and it’s not for lack of trying. But, Americans continue to try, starting thousands of new businesses each year.

Sen. Obama doesn’t grasp this. He wants to take Joe’s reinvestment money and hand it out to whomever the Gang of Three (Obama, Pelosi, Reid) thinks will vote their way. Yes, it’s that simple. The Gang of Three will make sure that any new spending will be directed toward maximizing their political power and growing their voting bloc. They are the champions and enablers of redistribution. Joe the Plumber called it: We will slip into socialism when the Gang of Three takes power, should Obama capture the presidency. The parasites will celebrate.
