The brown-shirts of liberal intolerance

November 18, 2008

The 2008 presidential election was marked bya decidedly sinister undertone emanating from the Democratic camp. Beyond the usual Tammany Hall-style voter fraud and the mindless media cheer-leading, there was an undercurrent of threat and intimidation. It was in evidence on the nightly news broadcasts, if you were paying attention. Here’s an unnerving example:A Fox News reporter and cameraman were attempting to get a quote out of leftist loony toon Ward Churchill. The substance of the quote was immaterial, as was the reporter’s motivation for being there in the first place. But, the presence of thugs was disconcerting. Churchill was surrounded and ‘protected’ by a group of young men who eagerly pushed aside the young reporter, shoved the cameraman to the group and demanded the tape. They shouted down the reporter as he tried to ask questions and then hustled the flaky professor away from the scene. From the smile on Ward Churchill’s face, he was thoroughly enjoying the confrontation. Fox did not press charges. The local constabulary, who could clearly see the faces of these thugs on TV, didn’t arrest anyone. Ward Churchill did not apologize for the rough treatment of the reporter or the cameraman.

At the Republican national convention, small groups of men and women were found in safe-houses a short distance from the convention site. They were preparing balloons filled with urine and powders to irritate the eyes and nose, among other such niceties. Outside the convention hall, in what is typically a quiet and well-ordered town, unruly crowds picked fights with convention attendees and destroyed property, all in the name of hope and change. The Republican convention itself was marred with ‘technical’ glitches. Thuggery has entered the political process. These people justify their actions with flowery arguments about equality and fairness at the same time they intimidate, insult and injure those who don’t agree with them. They knowingly and willfully break the law, then justify it as a necessary action to achieve peace and harmony, of all things. The parallels between these ‘liberal’ thugs and Hitler’s infamous brown-shirts or Lenin’s Cheka are too close for comfort.

Somehow, I just can’t see young conservatives holed up in safe-houses manufacturing urine bombs or injuring reporters who merely ask a legitimate question. The mainstream media outlets, both print and electronic, cover this up or dismiss it as well-intentioned exuberance. They’re providing cover for what can and will turn much darker and more violent in the days to come. And maybe, that’s their intention.

Where to from here?

November 6, 2008

Maybe it’s time for conservatives to ditch the Republican party and start a new one. And, unlike the socialists hiding behind the Democratic Party moniker, this new party should be called the Conservative Party. There’s no reason to disguise the conservative movement’s true intent, as the Democrats have for the last 60 years. In fact, conservatives should demand that Democrats merge with the Socialist Party, since the former has effectively adopted the latter’s platform. Conservatives have nothing to hide, and everything to gain by promising Americans that they will restore the ideals and principles that made America great, and leave by the roadside those things that held us back, including a pervasive culture of entitlement and the consequences of social engineering by government.

The fact that conservative Republicans didn’t turn out to vote for John McCain should send shock waves through the Republican party and force the RNC leadership to reflect on how they recruit a loyal base. They’ve spent the last 6 years trying to cultivate a positive relationship with mainstream media. Sorry, that’s not going to happen. TV networks and newspapers are merely propaganda machines for the Democratic Party and those few outlets that provide an alternative, balanced point of view will eventually be silenced. Therefore, the Republicans should gird themselves for battle. It won’t be pretty, it won’t be easy, and they will get pounded mercilessly.

Having said that, conservatives need to look for different means to communicate their message. The Democratic Party and its allied grass roots organizations have been especially adept at using every form of communication technology to their advantage, aided and abetted by the news & entertainment cabal which has extensive experience and resources in that space. Conservatives must invest the time, money and effort required to build an extensive communications network that will help recruit and retain a loyal following. Republicans don’t have anything resembling the machines Democrats have created and continue to develop and maintain, always ready to mobilize voters and apply pressure when needed. This will take some time. Getting started now would be a good idea.

A bitter harvest

October 21, 2008

America’s parasites are welcoming the presumed ascendancy of Barack Obama to the highest office in the land. He’s made promises up and down the socio-economic ladder to just about anyone he thinks will be able to cast a vote, legally or illegally. There will be more pork, says Obama. There will be more handouts, says Obama. There will be more welfare of every form, says Obama. And he’s not hiding the fact that there will be more taxes to pay for it all. But, that tax will be paid only by the richest in the land, who couldn’t possibly have made that money by their own effort, comittment and risk. It was wealth accumulated by some nefarious, unknown means that in all fairness must be distributed to all. So says Obama. And when elected, he and his Democratic henchmen will put this country through a wrenching, hellish transformation.

Obama, the one we’ve all been waiting for, knows nothing of wealth creation and what makes this country so very different from the rest of the world. And if he does, he doesn’t care. Like Lenin and the Bolsheviks, Obama, Pelosi and Reid will experiment with the economy, the political process, the role of government and the structure of society. We will be the guinea pigs, as will our children and their children. They will solidify their power so that the Democratic party can never be voted out of office and government can grow exponentially. This, they have solemnly promised America. They don’t have to hide their agenda anymore. The parasites, who outnumber the producers, focused on the promises of easy money and government handouts, cheerfully giving up their economic freedoms.

The transition into socialism will be subtle. The transformation into a socialist state, with its ruling elite, party apparatchicks and clueless masses will not. When millions of middle class Americans are jobless, homeless and hopeless as Obama twists the knobs and fiddles with our fates, it will be too late to point out that the Democrats made their intentions very clear. And even the parasites will suffer. Because they’re no longer needed to vote, apply political pressure or write big campaign checks. They’ll be cast aside and told to fend for themselves — a bitter harvest to be sure.

As the noose tightens

October 17, 2008

Joe the Plumber has gotten a taste of what happens when you stick your neck out. The mainstream media wasted no time in digging up details on his divorce, back taxes, drivers record, licensure and other personal details — a quick slap upside the head to show him who’s running the show. Average Americans should take notice: this is the shape of things to come. Productive Americans who question the liberal orthodoxy will be called out, their lives examined, their sanity questioned and their personal well-being jeopardized. From here it’s only a short step to interrogations, searches and seizures. Ask anyone who lived through the Stalinist era what that knock on the door in the middle of the night means.

Let’s say you’re brave or foolish enough to confront a Democratic candidate on the issues and ask something as straightforward as why you’re penalized for working hard and living within your means while the government burns money by the truckload. And then let’s assume the candidate gives you an answer that clearly telegraphs his real plans for people like you. And silly you doesn’t like what you’ve heard, so you exercise your First Amendment right to say so. Obviously, the candidate can’t retract his statement; it’s been recorded and replayed. So, the propaganda machine backing this Democratic candidate (which would be the entire media universe with a few small exceptions) must destroy you in order to create a diversion. By tar and feathering you, they hope to dissemble the candidate’s response to your rather straightforward question and even dissemble the question itself. By destroying the person, they hope to destroy the question.

By quelling dissent, the socialists hope to slip a noose around the neck of every productive American in order to bring them to heel. But don’t worry, the noose is only temporary. It will be quickly replaced with a yoke so that productive Americans can spend the rest of their lives in servitude, feeding the engines of a massive socialist state ruled by a permanently installed, unaccountable elite. Stalin would be proud.

Stealth funding and self-dealing

October 15, 2008

Voter registration fraud is but the tip of the iceberg. The A.C.O.R.N. flap doesn’t expose the real problem at hand - taxpayer funding of entities whose activities are designed to increases taxes and deliver a predictable voting bloc to Democratic candidates. Unfortunately, A.C.O.R.N. is but one of many organizations that deliver this valuable service to the Democratic Party, most of which operate out of the spotlight. The Republicans have no comparable mechanism for gathering votes and voters, legally or illegally.

Monumentally egregious is that the recent bank bailout bill includes a provision which tacks on a $450 charge at closing for any residential real estate financing transaction - and the money goes directly to A.C.O.R.N. This is insane. The Democrats forced this into the bill after the Republicans beat back an outright $400 million grant to A.C.O.R.N. and its ilk. This isn’t just funding some organization that is ideologically aligned with the Democratic Party. It’s buying votes, plain and simple. The mainstream media is silent on this subject.

This isn’t even stealth funding anymore. The Democrats and A.C.O.R.N. don’t even bother with the pretense of hiding their relationship and what each party gets from it. The Democratic Party pours money into A.C.O.R.N. or its sister organizations. They in turn hire people to go out and ‘register’ voters, fill out absentee ballots for these voters or drive them to the polling station on election day, sometimes in exchange for money, cigarettes and who knows what else, to vote for Democratic candidates. The money passes from the taxpayer, the DNC and private donors through A.C.O.R.N. to the voter in form of money or cigarettes offered by the A.C.O.R.N. organizer. That’s buying a vote. It’s nationwide and it involves millions of votes. This is corruption on a vast scale, selling votes for one political party to ensure that funding for A.C.O.R.N. is provided by the taxpayer in the form of new taxes and fees. This makes Tamany Hall look like a glee club. Where is the outrage? Why is no one protesting this assault on the only fundamental right that makes any difference - the right to vote? The votes of thinking, responsible and productive Americans are being negated by the Democratic Party and its allies. If there was a time for the Republican candidate to say something, it would be now.
